We Are All About Creating a Safe and Fun Space for Our Players to Thrive
General Rules for TIV
PRACTICES All practices will be structured and intense, which will give the player an opportunity to experience many types of game like situations. Practice should be approached with the same mental attitude as a match. This is a critical time for all athletes, as they will learn many techniques and skills needed to become a successful high school player. Athletes should leave their personal life at home.
ATTENDANCE Will be taken at all practices and tournaments.
ABSENCES You are expected to be at practice, but If you need to miss due to other commitments, such as partici- pation in another sport, family vacation or other event then it must be communicated to your coach and club director before missing practice.
UNEXCUSED ABSENCES If you miss practice and there is no prior communication it will be seen as an unexcused absence and will result in decreased playing time for the next tournament date.
TARDINESS/LEAVE EARLY Please communicate with your coach if you are going to be late or need to leave practice early. Arriving late without proper communication could result in decreased playing time.
PRACTICE GEAR Athletes will be provided with two practice shirts in addition to the tryout shirt. Players are expected to wear one of those 3 shirts for practices with other appropriate attire. Please try to stick with monotone spandex, preferably the colors of black, navy, or dark gray.
PRACTICE PARTICIPATION Players are expected to listen while the Coach is talking. Players will not undermine coaches or fellow athletes.
BULLYING/HARASSMENT OF ANOTHER PLAYER OR COACHES WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE CLUB.
CELL PHONES are to be kept in bag on silent mode and not checked during practice times.
UNIFORMS Players must bring all uniform pieces to games, including knee pads and proper shoes and will not be allowed to play if items are missing.
TOURNAMENTS Players must arrive to designated tournament site at least 60 minutes before first played match or 30 minutes before first match as referee (work) team. Must also bring a WHISTLE & VOLLEYBALL.
PLAYING TIME Coaches will do their best to distribute playing time as equitably as possible and all factors from attendance, attitude, position and practice participation will be taken in to account when doing so.
COMMUNICATION This will be a huge part of getting the most out of your season. Players are encouraged to openly communicate with their coach pertaining to practices, game situations, etc.
PARENT COMMUNICATION Under no circumstances may a parent address a coach regarding play time, line-ups, etc. during tournament play. Ask your athlete why they think there may be an issue and then have them ask their coach. Parents may not contact the coach until after a 24 hour cool off period. Then an appt can be scheduled. If you have an immediate issue/concern please contact Mike.
